"Very Nice!"

You are a very good animator! I applaud you at doing the traditional style, (Which I have yet to have the chance to).

KB - Back To The Front

"Awesomeness!"

date: May 16, 2009

I liked it! The ending just ties it all together so well that I felt obliged to watch it several times before writing this. Keep up the good work you great person you! Way to hang in there through all those years! Sometimes it just takes time to finish one project.

Dead Bodies

"Always good to see :D"

submission: Dead Bodies

And she's back on the scene! Always fun to watch your stuff. You're getting really good because I believe you're stepping out of your boundaries a bit more each animation. The trick is just to keep doing and drawing new things, new poses, new movements, it helps us grow.

I enjoyed the half ghostly dead bodies in presumable boxes, coffins. Kinda gave an extra oomf to the piece once I saw them. You gotta work a bit on finding a good flow to facial expression to lip synching, it twas too doll like, emotionless, if that was your objective, nvm. I could probably see you playing around a bit more with lighting effects, just because I believe your style is more linked to the classical art depiction of volumetric shadows and lighting. You may have fun experimenting with that under the grainy veil you have on this one and "English Tea"

Author's Response:

Awww thanks!!! You are totally right!!! I can't seem to get down facial expressions! People are sooo hard to depict.. (I'll just go with "They where supposed to be doll like") Haha even thought I was going for more realistic... And I TOTALLY SUCK at drawing from different points of view!!! I know music videos need that to keep you entertained, but WOW its hard!!! Lol I guess I have a hard time thinking 3D and always see it as a flat surface! I don't know why... I know there is an easier way of doing it then I have been because i envy so many animators on this site that can do it so fast... Anyways...

I'm always working on a flash I just dont find them ALL newgrounds worthy... haha, But your so right... just keep working on new poses and new movements...
The dead bodies in the boxes, I got that idea from the movie 13 ghosts with the jackle. Where his head was just in the box... lol
Anyways... Its always a pleasure to read your reviews!! Thank you again!! You always have great ideas and point out my flaws (in a good way) as to not make me feel horrible... lol I need that!!!

Yucatan

"I don't make music..."

submission: Yucatan
date: February 24, 2009

I'm giving you an 8 because it leaves room for improvement. And that's what everyone really needs, something to strive for.

When I listen to music, I kinda go with the feeling to it rather than if I can dance to it or not. Emotional feeling from music for me ranges from happy to sad to all the in between. This is what I got from your music. I also go with what I imagine is happening, as if I was watching a video or a memory in my mind.

Vision- "Starts out on an older player, possibly a radio cassette, then jumps to a bigger boom box when the non faded beat goes in. This could also be a transition into a vibrant color or the over hook of an animation is established such as a motion or pulse of the style is established. The most I can see after this is robots mostly because I've been having this robot fetish lately, and because I got a bit mixed up with all the different sounds coming through to me. The ending seconds is a robot or something breaking up.

Emotion and Feeling-

I got more of a personal feeling from this track. Not too big on emotion, but more about you as a composer. Just a reflection of who you are as a person. If I had to say an underlying tone of it all, it's a different type of fun. If people stick around long enough, they hear some pretty interesting things, different maybe, but still sensical in an offlooked eye.

Overview-

You definetely got something going for you. Not in this piece, but I'm sure you have others that have that perfect snap you like to reflect on. You have a variety of sources you grasp from, even though I think organization is a type of beauty too. You got the stuff in this piece, but the ending, the final note was missing that final zing that would make me want to listen to it countless times. The new types of sound did make me listen to it about 9 times, which is something good if you can harness it.
